For Your Information
Ji Do Kwan (TM) Christian Martial Arts International and the New International Jidokwan Federation are run on the principles of common sense, Christian faith and belief, Christian authority, and integrity.
Martial arts is traced all the way back at least to military exercises formulated in Ancient Egypt in the time occurring between 4,000 - 5.000 years ago, roughly around 3000+ BC [before Christ]. Paintings of these drills are evident on the walls of the passages within the Pyramids. Martial arts seem to have begun with Pharoah's armies; however, the martial arts were no match for the parting of the Red Sea!
There were no religions attached to these exercises and drills. Man himself added religion and philosphy to martial arts in the first Millennium AD [Anno Domini -- after the death/ressurection of Christ]. Martial arts can be used to build self-confidence in order to stand up for Christ and the Gospel News of salvation.
We do not involve our classes in the study of non-Christian mediations and philosophies, or of eastern religions. We do not study "Ki" because it is wrongly applied in and by the world -- There is, in truth, a spiritual energy that can be built with our exercises and classes, but it comes from concentration, electricity generated by the human body, from following directions, and from the Holy Spirit. This increased energy can result in increased health and healing.
We do not "throw ki", cast spells, inhale spirits from the universe, ingest energy from the moon, or any of a dozen other energy-building and power developing types of techniques that can go wrong in the inappropriate hands. We do not enter trances or leave our bodies.
